FAQs

Q: Who is the event for?

The event is organised by and for the home education community. It’s family friendly, inclusive, and volunteer run, with space for friends and extended family too

Q: What facilities will there be?

* Toilets: open 24/7

* Showers

* Drinking water points

* Bins and recycling points

* Washing up facilities

Q: Will there be accessible facilities?

Hew aims to support those with accessible needs as much as possible.

Those with mobility issues please contact us directly so we can work with you.

Q: Can I come in my camper van or bring a caravan?

Yes, if you prefer this to a tent, and there is no extra charge. If you want electricity you need to provide your own cable and book an EHU or an additional fee, please note these are very limited

Q: Can I park my car by my tent?

While cars can’t stay next to tents during the event, you’ll be able to drive onto the camping field when you arrive to unload your gear. After that, vehicles need to be moved to the car park. The only exception is for live-in vehicles that are designed or adapted for sleeping in. When it’s time to leave, you can bring your car back to collect your things, we just ask that you pack down as much as possible before driving onto the field.

Gates to and from the field will be closed in-between the festival due to safety.

Q: What’s the plan for food?

You’re welcome to self-cater (camp stoves, BBQ off the ground). There is a pub on site which serves food.

Supermarkets can deliver supplies to the site.

We are hoping to have some food vendors on site also (to be confirmed)

Q: What happens if it rains?

The festival runs in the UK in April. We recommend clothes for wet weather and cold evenings.

Q: Are dogs allowed?

Yes, well behaved dogs on a lead are allowed on site, but are not permitted within marquees. If tied up outside they must not obstruct any entrance, nor be in a position where they might impede access for dog phobic or allergic attendees. Assistance dogs are of course allowed anywhere the owner requires their assistance.

Owners must clean up after their dogs.

Q: Is there Wi-Fi?

There is public Wi-Fi available from the pub, mobile signal has proven to be variable around the field.

Q: What time can I arrive/leave the festival?

A: The earliest you can arrive is midday on the first day of the festival and the latest you can leave is midday on the last day of the festival. Please do not arrive earlier as we will not be able to let you onto the site.

You are very welcome to arrive and leave at any point in between these two dates or stay for all of it if you can. For safety reasons, cars will not be able to travel across the festival site, we recommend that cars park within the car park just outside the festival area.
